My co-author and I are writing our 3rd book together, my 6th book. This one is on change. It is called 'Another Flippin' Change Book - Hooked on and Passionate about Change!" One of the topics I am writing about is Finding my Passion. It is an interesting exercise to find out what turns me on in life and excites me enough to unleash my passion.
Yes, you heard me correctly. I don't think passion comes automatically. It may come accidentally. You might be doing something and find out that you really REALLY like doing it. I think those for those of us who are passionate, tend to have had to look for it to find it.
In my own case I had to do a number of different jobs in my life until I found the one I do now to find out that I really am passionate about it. I actually have three passions; to write, to train and to becoming a grandfather.
Here is a great question for me and all of you! If you won a large amount of money, would you still do what you are currently doing? If your answer is no, then it is likely you do not put a lot of passion into your current reality. If it is yes, that you would continue doing whatever you are doing, then it is likely you have passion in that activity. So keep doing it and admit you love what you do. It is okay to be happy! In my really, regardless of money I would continue with my three passions.
Each of us has greater capacity, but most of us don't use it wisely. I love what I do and after I do it I am exhausted for it takes and uses all my energy and capacity. But you know something, I love that kind of exhaustion. I am fortunate to do what I love and I sincerely thank God for allowing me to do it.
Passion is a gift, don't waste it. Find out what you love and do it with passion.

Passion Lost, Passion Found
I know what you mean... I thought that I had found my passion when I started one of my first jobs after getting my first diploma. I was all excited but the passion that I thought I had was fleeting.
Years later I found that passion is special and not something that comes easily. When I realized that I had passion for helping others and supporting their efforts I was surprised.
Thanks for bringing this back to my attention.
Service - the ulitmate drug!
My life has been filled with starts and stops. I have had a dozen different jobs which could have become careers until retirement, Although they were not jobs I wanted to do for the rest of my life, I still did them with enthusiasm. I learned something in every task I undertook. But to keep my interest, you had better challenge me. The new, the unexplored, the stimulating are things I look for in life. I have found my passion, just like you, in helping others to find their passion. Service to others is the greatest source of internal passion. Service is like a drug that keeps you coming back for more. It is addictive. Serving other is much better than serving yourself. It is also much more sustaining.
